Dashing through

November 20th, 2007 · No Comments

Tiny flakes appeared just before the school bus this morning. By mid-morning, enough were falling to accumulate and the girls were enchanted and begging to go outside.

The horses seemed less than enchanted. They stood like this for over an hour. Geez, guys, it wasn’t that cold.

When your mom is an artist

November 19th, 2007 · No Comments

Edward has always been interested in art. He can’t help it. His mom (me) is an artist. One great-grandfather was a self-taught and talented painter. Another great-grandfather is a photographer. A great-grandmother was a jeweler. A grandma studied art, working in photography and painting.
So naturally, when the kid shows a keen interest in drawing and […]

What to get the man who doesn’t want anything

November 18th, 2007 · 2 Comments

Dex has a birthday coming up very soon. The one thing he’s told me he wants is — TA DA! — on sale on Black Friday. When he told me about the sale, I thought he was joking. Har, har, honey, yeah I’ll get up at 5 am and hoof it out to the madness […]

November 17th, 2007 · No Comments

I had no idea! My favorite line in this article:
Her father described her as “my joy,” adding, “She helped me overcome the failures in all men, and to look beyond them.”

This post will go on and on

November 16th, 2007 · No Comments

Dex is across the room, snug in bed, whistling the theme song to The Titanic to get me inspired for tonight’s post. We were watching the tail end of it on HD, mostly because it was in HD. It was the scene where everyone is freezing to death in the water. A lifeboat returns to […]

Gravity

November 14th, 2007 · No Comments

I have a blender in my mind today, scrambling all sorts of thoughts into one greenish goo. So much to think about … and yet I don’t feel like thinking about any of it. Or do I? I do but I am tired of there not being any definite answers.
 Yes, that’s it. I am tired […]

Glimpses of New England - part 1

November 13th, 2007 · No Comments

I promised you some images of New England landscapes. Here is the first set of photos. I shoot a lot of these type of images from a moving car (shooting blindly, keeping my eyes on the road). I’ve found that if I don’t shoot while moving, I’m never able to get any images of most […]

The grand vision of all that I am driving toward

November 12th, 2007 · 2 Comments

I am tired of thinking about and talking about the things that aren’t working and aren’t what I want for this family. I want to focus on what I do want. This is the vision of the life I want for us.

I want a house that gives us the space and layout to be comfortable […]
