a special place in hell

Many things I wanted to write about today but I am putting it all aside to focus on one story. This one.

When I heard on NPR that the women involved in these bombings were innocent victims themselves, I was overwhelmed with rage and sorrow. I slammed my hands on the counter and wept. The mass murder is sickening and incomprehensible. To strap explosives to mentally disabled women and use them as human bombs … I wish I believed in Hell for then I might believe that the men who did this would be punished for their inhuman cruelty.

One thing: the article states incorrectly that this is the first time such an attack using persons with Down syndrome was carried out. Sadly, it was not. It is intensely painful for me to read this article.

And these events - these barbaric and evil acts - make what Scott Southworth and his fellow soldiers are doing that much more important.

Wow, I hadn’t heard this. Thanks for sharing this article. What cowards those men were - I thought dying for the cause was a great thing. Why choose to kill these innocent and trusting women?
