Last night was exciting. And by exciting, I mean rotten.
Imagine a 21-month old toddler thrashing around in your bed. Imagine said toddler rising up and squirming to get comfortable, only to flop down, as if dropping her heavy, wild-maned head onto a plump soft pillow. Only there is no pillow positioned beneath her falling head. There is only your mouth. Your teeth. Your lips. Making contact - skull, teeth, lower lip - hard.
This morning, my lip feels huge. There is a nasty wound but it is not that visible to the outside world.
To go along with my lovely fat lip, I have dark circles under my eyes (larger than usual, I mean). It took me two hours to get said offending toddler back to sleep and resettled into her own bed. Funny though, she was in our bed, snuggled up against me when I awoke after a refreshing 3.75 hours of sleep (for a grand total of about 5).
Good thing the sun is out today.
Good thing she is cute.
Good thing she just learned to say “mama, mam, mam, maama”.

LOL, Poor you. But what a cute story. Now you can tease her about giving you a fat lip when she is 30.

Hi, you sound just like my daughter, her daughter thrashes around just like that during the night but sleeps in the one position during the day… she is expecting another baby in 6 months and would like to find some solution to this thrashing problem. Had anyone given you any possible reasons as to why this happens and how to fix it….. all information would be most helpful. Kind regards, Grannymar……

Hello - this is for Grannymar. Did you ever get an answer to this questions? What causes the thrashing around? My 21 month old just started it and it’s been pretty miserable at my house lately.
