My daughters turned two years old today. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! We had a lovely day. It was cool this morning but the sun came out and the temperature rose. I took the girls for their first haircut ever. They did fine - I did end up with both of them on my lap. Two hairstylists waited on us. They took turns cutting hair and taking pictures for me. Jules and Mae now sport adorable bangs. Some of my friends with girls had put the fear of bangs into me, but I finally caved because my girls were riskig permanent visual underdevelopment from not being able to see out of both eyes simultaneously. (I’ve tried every hair doo-dad under the sun; they simply pull them out.) My bangs-phobia was for naught. Both girls look adorable.
We had a birthday celebration at my folks, complete with Sesame Street party decor, cake & ice cream, and gifts. My very good friend was there, also my sis and neice, and my brother. My folks made a yummy dinner, then we did the usual birthday routine. The girls were thrilled with their gifts, which included numerous plush animals.
The only bummer of the day was that their daddy was not able to be here with us. We will have another birthday celebration - a combined one for them & me - at the in-laws in MO next week, Daddy included.
Two years… they are growing into amazing creatures. Sweet and wonderful.
