Today was supposed to be a busy day. Davey was scehduled to see his pulmonologist in Boston. The girls were supposed to go to my friend’s house - we have a Thurs/Fri morning kid exchange going on. I take her younger two one morning, she takes my younger two the next. It has been working out well, giving each of us some time to do errands, etc. and giving the kids some fun playtime with each other.

Yesterday, Mae woke with a fever. Not high and she didn’t seem too sick. After a dose of ibuprophen, she perked up and was fine all morning. After her nap, another slight fever and general unhappiness. Still, I figured she would be better this morning.

Her fever was higher this morning, high enough that she was shaking. I rescheduled Davey’s appointment and took Jules over to my friend’s house. Mae and I are sitting on the couch, watching Sesame Street. She’s doing ok, just quiet and obviously not feeling her best.

Davey will be home in an hour. I’ll pick up Jules after lunch. In the meantime, I’m snuggling with my little sweetie.
