I’m too tired to be clever today, so I’ll just give you the list:
- getting the house ready to sell, including landscaping, decluttering, sorting, selling stuff, and doing touch up work, and which also includes researching the local housing market, and which *also* includes researching the three (?) possible places we might end up living once we either sell this house or I go insane from trying to keep it clean enough to sell and simply throw all our crap in a wagon and GO
- trying to write a nonfiction book proposal, which I have never done and for which an actual living, breathing bona fide literary agent is waiting
- finding the right kindergarten program for Davey, assuming we are *here* in the fall, and which entails visiting schools throughout our area (in and out of our district), and which also entails researching long distance the schools and programs in the other possible places we might be living come this fall, and which *also* entails researching and wracking my brain on the whole idea of Least Restrictive Environment and IDEA in general and how it applies to Davey and his needs
- creating a new PECS-based communication book for Davey, which includes figuring out what he needs to communicate and under what circumstances, taking photos for the picture cards, and researching PECS and other forms of augmentive communication
- continuing to monitor how Edward is doing in school and trying to make sure he has what he needs
- all the other family managerial stuff: keeping in contact with family & friends, making doctor appointments, buying Easter stuff and birthday stuff, registering Edward for Cub Scout summer camp and for preschool for Jules & Mae for the fall, doing various things for Edward and Davey for school, and a slew of other stuff I can’t think of right now
- all the day-to-day stuff of life and caring for a house and four young children, which includes buying lots and lots of diapers and pull-ups, doing lots and lots *and* lots of laundry and dishes, spending thousands of dollars a week on groceries only to run out of milk in four days, cooking lots and lots of meals that are picked at and fussed over and ultimately rejected or are scarfed down wordlessly, picking up every toy in the house at least twice a day, bathing kids, dressing kids, undressing kids, reading to kids, and trying to keep kids entertained and happy and on an even keel…. AND if I am very, very lucky I get to take a shower
Ta-da!
